I wrote this song after a vivid dream, which I remember. I had written a song called “Drunk on the Beach” and was pitching it to Jimmy Buffett in hopes he would record it. He was allowing me to tag along as he went about his busy day.
As soon as I woke I went straight to the computer and wrote this song. I’m sad to say it has no redeeming social value. In my defense, I have been only drunk once in my life, and it wasn’t on a beach.

Drunk on the Beach
By Dallas Denny
Give me an ocean
A spot on the sand
A bottle of beer
And an elbow that bends
Some ban de soleil
And a few of my friends
And I’m drunk on the beach again
Refrain:
Drunk on the beach
Drunk on the beach
The lime and Tecate
Within easy reach
Drunk on the beach
And I’d do it again
I’m drunk on the beach again
Today at the office
Things really sucked
I thought I’d go postal
Start running amuck
So I told ’em to stuff it
And left before ten
And I’m drunk on the beach again
