Okay. So you don’t look very much like a woman. You don’t sound like a woman. You’re too tall. Your hands and feet are too big. Your hair is too thin. Your jaw is too big. You have hair all over your body. Your voice is too deep. You don’t see how you’re going to be able to pull it off.

Can you do it? Probably. You must, of course, take a careful look at yourself. Make a list. Write down your good points. Your bad points. The bad points list is longer? Don’t worry—yet. Think of all the things that will improve with hormonal therapy and cross them off. Now think of all the things that will improve with surgery. Cross them off. Think of all the things that will change with hard work. Cross them off.

Is your bad points list still longer than your good points list? I doubt it.
