Dr. Spack is a remarkable man. I was most impressed with his stark admission that he didn’t know much about trans issues and asked his patient to teach him in exchange for his assistance. Because of the inherent bias in the educational foundation of various counselors, and medical professionals. It is more important than ever that treatment of transgendered persons be multifaceted, and there be a similar exchange by both the he provider and patient to be certain they receive the best care possible for their particular situation. Great men and women never stop learning. Puberty is a very delicate area for persons struggling to fund their way in this society.
