I wrote the following after the November 8, 2016 after election and before Donald J. Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2017. Rather than publish it immediately, I decided to withhold it for six or seven months to see how my predictions held up. Pretty well, I think.

Our trans community, and many other American communities, face a grave threat.

I love trans events and have been involved with launching a few of them, but I’m especially proud of my association with Fantasia Fair. If you come you will see me there, every year, for as long as I’m able.

In March 1991 a remarkable document appeared in my mailbox. It was titled A Bill of Gender Rights. Transgender activist JoAnn Roberts was the author. Two weeks later Gender Alternatives League issued a document called The Gender Activist Declaration of Independence.
